Hi! We are Javi Muruzabal and Javi Monreal! Thank you for taking the time to read about us.

We are a couple originally from Pamplona, in Northern Spain. We both speak Spanish as our first language and are fluent in English. Our relationship began in September 2017 when we started living in Madrid, and our paths crossed, thanks to the wonderful algorithm of a dating app. It was love at first sight!

Living with Javi Monreal is a true blessing. He is a very kind, loyal, and generous person. He pays attention to detail and is always concerned about the well-being of others. At home, we divide household tasks, although he is always in charge of planning and itineraries (he loves Google Maps and discovering cities!). I feel very lucky to share my life, and the strong bond we’ve built over the years, with Javi Muruzabal. What I liked most about him when we first met, was his attentive and polite way of treating people, his sense of humor, and quick wit. Gradually, I got to know him and discovered how disciplined and focused he is (during our first two years, he was preparing to pass a public employee exam, which he succeeded in doing with excellent results). We have two homes: one in Washington, D.C., and the other is in Pamplona, Spain, near our families, and where we were born and spent our childhoods. We plan to return by 2027. It’s a small city, but has an interesting cultural scene, including film, music, and art festivals, as well as architectural events. It has over two thousand years of history, and one of the most important monuments, the cathedral, was built in the Middle Ages.

We are united by the strong bonds we have with our families, not just with our parents, sisters, their husbands, and nephews, but also with all our uncles, cousins, and great-aunts… We have a very close relationship with all of them.

Javi Muruzabal has spent summers at the family house in a village since he was a child, where he even meets up with his mother’s cousins, their children, and grandchildren. 'Extended family' doesn’t even begin to describe them! For Javi Monreal, family gatherings...

We are nature lovers, and go hiking with a weekend group, and love to visit mountains to hike on vacations. It’s truly rewarding to reach the top of a mountain, see a waterfall that is only accessible by walking for two hours, or watch animals in their natural habitat.

Since moving to the United States, we have traveled to numerous national parks on both the East and West Coasts. In Spain, we have walked the Camino de Santiago on more than one occasion and explored the Pyrenees Mountains.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read our page, and for your courage and strength in bringing this baby into the world. We are eager to become parents to a child and are counting the hours until we can care for and hug them.
